Big Ten Conference tabs StatBroadcast for 2011 Football Championship Game

PARK RIDGE, ILL. -- StatBroadcast Systems announced today that it has entered into an agreement with the Big Ten Conference to assist with media relations efforts for the conference's inaugural Football Championship game this December. StatBroadcast will provide a live, real-time feed of game statistics for the media and staff via the web, as well as provide on-site support and wireless stat monitors at the venue.

The Big Ten Conference will hold its first Football Championship game on December 3, 2011, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. The Big Ten Conference is the oldest Division I college athletic conference and currently has twelve member institutions, located primary in the midwestern states. With the addition of its twelve member this year, the Big Ten will hold its inaugural football championship game, in front of a national television audience from Fox. Lucas Oil Stadium is the home of the Indianapolis Colts, previously hosted the 2010 NCAA Final Four and will host again in 2015.

The game will pit the winners of the conference's two divisions (Legends and Leaders), with the eventual champion receiving the conference's automatic BCS bowl bid, either to the Rose Bowl Game in Pasadena, Calif. or the BCS National Championship Game in New Orleans, La. The Big Ten's Legends division is made up of Minnesota, Michigan, Northwestern, Iowa, Michigan State and Nebraska. Wisconsin, Ohio State, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana and Penn State make up the Leaders division.
